GENERAL INFORMATION (Fees, attendance, subject matter, etc):

The Art Lab Fee is $22.00. This may be paid in full, or in installments of $8, $7, $7 for three grading periods and must be paid within the first two weeks of each grading period. All necessary materials will be provided unless otherwise noted. You may bring additional supplies if you wish. Also, each student must bring one roll of paper towels or one box of wet wipes, 12 #2 pencils, and one three subject composition book for note taking and daily visual journals.

+ Subjects dealing with gangs, sex/nudity, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, witchcraft/devils, extreme violence, or racial themes are NOT allowed to be drawn in this class. If you are in doubt about a particular theme, ask the teacher or just don’t draw it!! Failure to comply will result in a 0/F grade on that particular project.

+ Projects/Tests Due Dates: Students will be informed of due dates for particular projects. If a project is incomplete on that due date, it must be turned in as such. If you are absent due to illness, with a written excuse from home or a doctors excuse, the project may be completed on your own time at a later date to be determined by the teacher. It is the student’s responsibility to coordinate with the teacher and peer group any work that is to be made up. If the teacher feels the student is wasting time, playing around, etc., the project will be picked up and graded as is, with no extra make-up time allowed. Tests and quizzes are to be made up within five (5) school days at the teacher’s convenience only with a written excuse from home or a doctor’s excuse. Any work not made up within that time will result in a grade of zero (0). Again, it is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with the teacher to complete make-up work.

+The assignment of 25 drawings, tentatively due the fifth week of the grading period, will be required of every student each grading period. Due dates will be posted on the board to remind you. These drawings will not be accepted late! If you are absent on the due date, you must turn in your drawings on the day you return to school, or it will be counted as 0/50.

+ A daily visual journal will be kept in class and checked regularly. Three 30 point grades will be given throughout each 9 weeks grading period. Failure to complete/participate in the activity will negatively affect daily points.

+ Daily class participation: You will receive a total of 225 points during each grading period (5 points/day). Any infractions (see below) or absences will result in the loss of these points.

+ A loss of  points may be incurred and subtracted from a student’s Class Participation grade for any of the following infractions:

-Cleaning up early, stopping work, or sitting idle before clean-up time. You will be advised by the
teacher or substitute when it is time to clean up.
